All Infinity Tools CNC Router Bits are engineered to meet the cutting challenge presented by man-made materials such as plywood, MDF, plastics and melamine. We use only the most premium sub-micron grade of C4 carbide and we grind each bit to a remarkable finish in state-of-the-art 5-axis computer controlled machines.

Our Straight and Upcut Spiral O-Flute bits are specifically designed for cutting soft and hard plastics where they produce an exceptional finish. If you look down from the top of the bit you'll see the "O" design that we grind into the flute of the solid carbide round. This unique geometry allows the router bit to clear chips efficiently and dissipate heat quickly by creating the optimal 'chip'.

Choose the Upcut Spiral O-Flute router bit for faster feed rates where material finish on top of the workpiece is not a primary concern. Choose the Straight O-Flute where finish on top and bottom is more important than feed rate and speed.

Both O-FLute router bit styles are ideally suited for all types of plastics, they also produce an excellent finish in soft metals, laminates, hardwood, softwood, plywood, MDF and particleboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What shank size does this O-Flute CNC bit have?

It has a 1/4" shank, which fits routers and CNC spindles that accept a 1/4" collet. Browse more CNC router bits.

What cutter sizes are available?

This bit is offered in 1/4" and 1/8" cutter diameters with cutter heights of 1" and 1/2" respectively, so you can match the bit to your material thickness and detail.

What materials can this O-Flute bit cut?

It is ideally suited for all types of soft and hard plastics, and also produces an excellent finish in soft metals, laminates, hardwood, softwood, plywood, MDF, and particleboard.

Why is the O-Flute design good for plastics?

The "O"-shaped flute clears chips efficiently and dissipates heat quickly by creating the optimal chip. That prevents melted plastic from re-welding in the cut, giving an exceptional finish.

What is the difference between the straight and upcut spiral O-Flute?

Choose the upcut spiral for faster feed rates when top-surface finish is not critical. Choose the straight O-Flute when finish on both the top and bottom of the workpiece matters more than speed.

What carbide is used in this bit?

It is made from the premium sub-micron grade C4 carbide and ground to a remarkable finish in state-of-the-art 5-axis computer-controlled machines.

Is this bit only for CNC machines?

It is engineered for CNC work but the 1/4" shank also fits handheld and table-mounted routers with a 1/4" collet. Pair it with one of our router tables for controlled cuts.

Who makes this O-Flute router bit?

It is an Infinity Tools CNC router bit, ground from premium carbide in 5-axis CNC machines. Explore the full range of carbide router bits.

Can this bit cut man-made sheet goods like MDF and melamine?

Yes. Infinity Tools CNC router bits are engineered to meet the challenge of man-made materials including plywood, MDF, plastics, and melamine, delivering a clean finish.

How do I get the best finish in plastic?

Use the straight O-Flute when top and bottom finish both matter, keep feed and speed balanced so the bit can clear the chip, and let the O-Flute geometry dissipate heat. Browse matching router bit sets for more options.
