A Must-Have Item for Every Shop!

Double-sided tape is the perfect solution when a regular clamp simply won't work or if you need to temporarily clamp items together. We use double-sided tape all the time in our shop to secure workpieces for routing, sanding, or securing templates for routing duplicate parts. We tested many different kinds and chose this high-grade double-sided tape that is thin with just the right amount of sticking power. You can be confident that this tape will hold when you want and still come apart when you're done.

To use the tape, simply cut or tear it to the desired length and apply it to the workpiece. Then remove the paper backing to expose the top adhesive surface.

Features:

  • Several Options To Suit Your Particular Need
    • Clear -> 2" Wide x 60-yd Long x 4mil Thick (101-294)
    • White -> 2" Wide x 36-yd Long x 6mil Thick (101-286)
  • 2", 4mil tape is excellent for router templates, delicate or thin work, or items that need to be repositioned frequently
  • 2", 6mil tape is also a good choice for router templates and turning blanks, but also for operations such as stacking parts for cutting and drilling, or just where a slightly stronger strip would be more convenient.
  • Economical to keep multiple rolls on hand around the shop, so you always have a way to temporarily secure surfaces

Frequently Asked Questions

What is double-sided tape used for in the shop?

It's a temporary workholding solution for when a regular clamp won't work—ideal for securing workpieces for routing or sanding and for holding router templates when routing duplicate parts.

What sizes and thicknesses are available?

Two options are offered: Clear (101-294) at 2" wide x 60-yd long x 4mil thick, and White (101-286) at 2" wide x 36-yd long x 6mil thick.

What's the difference between the clear and white tape?

The clear 4mil tape is excellent for router templates, delicate or thin work, and items repositioned frequently. The white 6mil tape is slightly stronger—good for templates, turning blanks, and stacking parts for cutting and drilling.

How do I apply the tape?

Cut or tear the tape to length, apply it to the workpiece, then remove the paper backing to expose the top adhesive surface and press your parts together.

Will the tape hold securely?

Yes. This high-grade tape is thin with just the right amount of sticking power, so it holds firmly when you want it to and still comes apart cleanly when you're done.

Can I use this tape for router templates?

Yes—it's one of the best uses for it. The thin 4mil clear tape is especially good for securing router templates to your stock.

Is the tape good for woodturning blanks?

The white 6mil tape (101-286) is a good choice for turning blanks, as well as stacking parts for cutting and drilling where a slightly stronger strip is convenient.

How wide is the tape?

Both the clear and white options are 2" wide. The clear roll is 60 yards long and the white roll is 36 yards long.

Can the tape be repositioned?

Yes. The clear 4mil tape is especially suited for delicate or thin work and items that need to be repositioned frequently.

Why keep multiple rolls on hand?

It's economical to keep several rolls around the shop so you always have a way to temporarily secure surfaces. Stock it alongside other shop essentials.
