Our Top Quality Ogee Router Bits Leave A Smooth Finish With No Extra Sanding Required!

Don't buy inferior quality Ogee Router Bits (or any router bit for that matter)! Inferior quality competitor's router bits will be manufactured using traditional machines that can't produce the precision needed and will often result in poor-quality cuts that require a lot of extra sanding and elbow grease to fix. Not our Ogee router bits! We ensure all of our Infinity router bits are top-quality by using only micro-grain carbide tips and by finely polishing their edges with special 5-axis C.N.C. grinding equipment. This advanced production process allows us to produce geometrically exact profiles with perfect ground relief angles. Making sure you have the correct relief angles throughout the entire ogee bit profile will ensure your router bits cut cleanly, do not burn while cutting and leave your wood glass-smooth.

We have ogee router bits to suit just about any decorative need. Choose your favorite profile from the illustrations or choose one of our money-saving ogee router bit sets. Ogee router bits beginning with 44, 46 and 59 can be converted into beading bits when you purchase our Beading Conversion Kit (BCK-002). By switching to the 3/8" diameter bearing included in the kit you can produce an attractive bead profile which is 1/16" wide.

Ogee Profile Rotuer Bits

If you want to add a classic decorative detail to your woodworking projects, the Ogee is a great place to start. Ogee (pronounced "Oh-Jee") is a combination of a round and cove which produces an "S" shape. The ogee profile can be found on everything from table edges to crown moldings. Use our superior quality Ogee Router Bit Sets to add a whole host of decorative options to your woodworking projects.

If you want to add a classic decorative detail to your woodworking projects, the ogee is a great place to start. Ogee (pronounced "Oh-Jee") is a combination of a round and cove which produces an "S" shape. The ogee profile can be found on everything from table edges to crown moldings. Even the classic cabriole leg is an elongated ogee shape.

One of the best ways to create an ogee profile is with your router and an ogee router bit. There are several ogee router bits available in different sizes and configurations. Infinity Tools has put together the most popular ogee profiles into an 8-piece Master Ogee Router Bit Set (00-458). The set includes a beading conversion kit (more on this later) and a handy, protective wood storage box. This is one of the most extensive collections of ogee router bit profiles you'll find.

The 8-piece Master Ogee Router Bit Set includes two bit sizes in four different profiles:

  • Roman ogee
  • Double Roman ogee
  • Classic ogee
  • Double classic ogee bits

The Roman ogee is known for having the cove or concave portion of the profile above the round, or convex, portion of the profile. Infinity Roman ogee router bits have the round portion nearest the shank and the cove portion nearest the bearing on the router bit, as shown below.

The double Roman ogee, shown below, is the same as the Roman ogee but with the addition of a fillet, or step, between the cove and round. This little step adds some definition and complexity to the profile and is one of my personal favorites.

The Classic Ogee is the opposite of a Roman Ogee. You can see these in the photo below. The cove portion is nearest the shank and the round portion nearest the bearing. All of the Classic Ogee router bits work very well with the beading conversion kit.

Finally, The Double Classic Ogee router bits (below) are the mirror image of the Double Roman Ogee bits with a fillet dividing the cove and bead. These router bits allow you to produce the most complex profiles with a fillet in the middle. With the beading conversion kit, you can also create a fillet at the top and bottom of the profile.

The BCK-002 Beading Conversion Kit mentioned above includes a bearing that is slightly smaller in diameter than the stock bearing. The beading conversion kit (photo below) is a great addition to the Classic Ogee and Double Classic Roman Ogee router bits and adds a fillet or step next to the round portion of the profile. While the beading conversion kit can be added to the Roman Ogee and Double Roman Ogee router bits, it doesn't add any additional detail but simply elongates the cove portion of the profile.

The beading conversion kit allows you to add an extra fillet to the ogee profile using a classic or double classic Roman ogee router bit.

The 8-piece Master Ogee Router Bit Set is a great value and opens up a lot of options for creating decorative moldings for your next woodworking project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What shank size are these Ogee router bits?

They have a 1/2" shank for stability and reduced vibration on larger profiles. Browse more edge-forming router bits.

What ogee profiles are available?

You can choose from Classical Ogee, Double Ogee, Inverted Ogee, and Ogee w/ Fillet, so you can match the look you want for cabinets, table tops, and trim.

What cutter diameters do these bits come in?

They are offered in 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/4", and 1-1/2" cutter diameters, with cutter heights ranging from 1/2" to 3/4" depending on the profile.

Will these bits leave burn marks?

No. Correct ground relief angles throughout the entire profile ensure the bits cut cleanly and do not burn while cutting, leaving the wood glass-smooth with no extra sanding required.

Can I convert an Ogee bit into a beading bit?

Yes. Ogee bits beginning with 44, 46, and 59 can be converted into beading bits using the Beading Conversion Kit (BCK-002). The kit's 3/8" bearing produces a 1/16"-wide bead profile.

What carbide is used in these Ogee bits?

They use micro-grain carbide tips with edges finely polished on special 5-axis CNC grinding equipment for geometrically exact profiles.

Can I buy these bits as a set?

Yes. You can choose a single profile or save money with one of our ogee router bit sets. Explore our carbide router bits for more options.

What projects are Ogee router bits used for?

They are ideal for decorative edges on cabinet doors, table tops, drawer fronts, and molding. See matching molding router bits for trim work.

Why choose Infinity Ogee bits over cheaper ones?

Cheaper bits are often made on traditional machines that can't hold the precision needed, leading to poor cuts and extra sanding. Infinity bits use micro-grain carbide and CNC-ground relief angles for clean, glass-smooth results.

Do I need a router table to use these bits?

A router table is recommended for safe, controlled edge profiling, especially with the larger diameters, but the 1/2" shank also works in a handheld router. Browse our full edge-forming router bits selection.
