Add The Beauty Of Hardwood To Any Woodworking Project!

The concept is simple yet the result is fantastic. Now you can finish your plywood, particle board or MDF projects with real hardwood edge banding using our Edge Banding router bits. Make your first cut by aligning the center of the male profile to the center of your workpiece. Your next cut using the female profile will be on your hardwood stock. Make sure to align the center of the router bit with the center of your stock, cut to length on the table saw and glue together. The "V-Edge" set also makes horizontal v-grooves or double edged chamfer cuts. The "Tongue & Groove" set create a larger glue surface. Use either set with stock from ½" to 1" thick.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do edge banding router bits do?

They let you finish plywood, particle board, and MDF projects with a real hardwood edge by cutting matching male and female profiles that glue together for a strong, seamless joint. Browse more carbide router bits.

What shank size are these bits?

These edge banding router bits have a 1/2" shank, suited for use in a router table.

What stock thickness can I use?

Either profile set can be used with stock from 1/2" to 1" thick.

What's the difference between the Tongue & Groove and V-Edge sets?

The Tongue & Groove set creates a larger glue surface for a stronger bond. The V-Edge set also makes horizontal v-grooves or double-edged chamfer cuts.

How do I apply the hardwood edge banding?

Cut the male profile on your workpiece and the female profile on your hardwood stock, keeping the bit centered on each. Then cut the banding to length on the table saw and glue the pieces together.

What materials can I band with these bits?

They're designed to add real hardwood edges to sheet goods like plywood, particle board, and MDF, hiding the raw edge and adding durability.

Why align the center of the bit with the center of the stock?

Centering the male and female profiles ensures the two cuts mate perfectly so the hardwood edge aligns flush with the panel for a clean, seamless glue-up.

Do these bits require a router table?

Edge banding profiles are best cut on a router table for consistent, repeatable results. Explore router tables to run these bits safely.

Can the V-Edge set make chamfers?

Yes. In addition to edge banding, the V-Edge set makes horizontal v-grooves or double-edged chamfer cuts.

What other router bit sets pair well with these?
